Chris Lackey

Chris Lackey, 25, of Murphy died Saturday, July 23, 2011.  He was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County.  He had been working as a hardwood floor installer.  He had attended the Peachtree Church of God.  Chris enjoyed fishing, dancing, and he loved to make people laugh.

Surviving are his wife, April Hawkins Lackey; a stepdaughter, Kayleigh Patrick of the home; mother Carolyn Morse Self and husband Floyd of Murphy; father David J. Lackey and wife Laurie of Murphy; two sisters, Jenni Lackey and Ashley Self, both of Murphy; a brother, Joe Lackey of Murphy; grandparents, Bill and Lillian Reagan of Brasstown; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Gale Jenkins officiating.  Interment will be in Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Floyd Humphrey, Bobby DiMartino, Michael Luke, Shawn Nestley, Sam Orlandi, and Paul Lovingood.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
