Sue W. Kay
Sue W. Kay, 80, passed away in Andrews, NC May 8, 2011. Born Susie Nell Willis in Chilton County, AL; Dec. 15, 1930. In 1965 she became the first female school bus driver in the state of Alabama; she drove for the Morgan County School System. Sue was also a volunteer with the Foley, AL, Meals on Wheels Program, a master gardener in Mobile, AL, a member of the Fairhope Jubilee Square Dance Club in Fairhope, AL, and a tax advisor with the Albertville Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She loved her animals and nature.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ben T. Kay, Albertville, AL and three children: Ben T. Kay, Jr., Brandon, MS; Karen K. Nash, Andrews, NC; and Vanessa K. Peeden, Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren, Olivia, Jeanelle, Heather, Desiree and Tyler; four great-grandchildren and three siblings: Ann Klotz, Gamaliel, AR; Louise Ballew, Arab, AL; and Wilburn Willis, Fort Wayne, IN. She was preceded in death by her infant son Anthony Kay; parents, Nodles and Affie Willis; three brothers: Irvin, Woodrow, and Rayburn Willis.
A memorial service was held on Sunday May 15, 2011 from 10302 Trafalgar Circle in Huntsville, AL. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local Humane Society.
