AARP Tax-Aide

AARP Tax-Aide will offer free personal income tax preparation for Federal and

State (GA & NC only) returns in Murphy, NC starting on February 1 and ending April 13, 2011. The site will be located at the First United Methodist Church Annex building on Valley River Drive in downtown Murphy. Tax preparation will be done on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1pm -7pm. It is available to all taxpayers with low to moderate income with special emphasis on individuals age 60 and over.  Call 828-835-0220 for appointment. Taxpayers should bring identification, social security cards for themselves and dependents, a copy of their 2009 income tax return, 2010 W-2s, 1099s, Social Security statements, and all documents to support income and deductions. If you would like a refund automatically deposited, bring a check so we may enter the bank routing number and account number into the return.
