MELISSA PARKER

Melissa Parker, 47, of Andrews died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in an Asheville

hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County. Melissa

had worked as a retail sales clerk. She was a member of the Valley River

Baptist Church.

Surviving are her parents, Desmond and Marcella Sharp Parker of Andrews; a

special cousin, Jacob Register; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 3 in the Valley River

Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Phillips officiating. Interment was in the

church cemetery. Cousins served as pallbearers.

The family received friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral

Home, Andrews where the body was until placed in the church 30 minutes prior

to the services.
