Welcome to the Editor’s Blog

We’d like to introduce this new feature that we’ve integrated into the Sentinel Website.  Our editor’s blog will be where we let the community what is going on with our newspaper.  We will use it to toss around new ideas and get input on how we can continue to provide an excellent news source.  As we continue taking the newspaper in a new direction, we’ll be posting updates to this blog quite frequently.  Keep checking it and don’t be afraid to give us your opinion at any point.

    I read James Davis’s “column” this week. Just a reminder: he is a candidate for office. Are you endorsing Mr. Davis by printing his opinions as a column?

    As far as I’m aware, James Davis the columnist is not the same “Jim Davis” who is running for office. – We endorse no political candidates.

    So I’m guessing that the weekly “free forum” you give to Heath Shuler and other numerous opportunities to let him brag about spending taxpayers money doesn’t give an unfair advantage to an incumbent in an election year. Let’s just pretend that’s not endorsement. I would say it is very obvious which direction the paper really leans.
