Frank Crain

Frank Crain, age 74 of Turtletown, TN passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Copperhill, TN.

Mr. Crain was a native of Cherokee County, NC; son of the late Lush and Bertha Bryson Crain. Frank was a USMC veteran. He loved playing cards, fishing, watching football and all outdoor activities. Frank enjoyed working on his vehicles and spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Crain, Don Crain and Lonnie Crain.

He is survived by one son, Gary Crain and his wife, Bridget of Turtletown, TN; three daughters, Debbie Sanders and her husband, Michael of Murphy, NC, Patricia “Tweetsie” Hickey and her husband, Chuck of Turtletown, TN and Jenny Leovao and her husband, Fualeovao of Murphy, NC; one brother, Elmer Crain and his wife, Teri from Farner, TN; one sister, Lois Elrod and her husband, Robert of Hickory, NC; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Pastor Ray Harper will officiate. Burial will be in the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Graveside rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post #10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post #96 and D.A.V. Chapter #73, Hayesville American Legion Post 532 and Hayesville VFW Post 6812 (Allison-Briston). Pallbearers will be Eric McFarland, Tim McCarther, Shane Rooks, John Crain, Jeff Crain and Paul Gribble. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Crain, Hunter Sanders, Frank Leovao, Patrick Crain and Geoffery Cole.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
