Earl (Glenn) Powell

Earl (Glenn) Powell of Murphy, NC passed away, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the age of 72 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was the son of the late Earl and Lillian Swafford Powell of Cullman, Alabama.  Earl was a US Army veteran. He belonged to the Springville Masonic Lodge in Powder Springs, GA and the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, GA. Earl was a great lover of horses and was a lifetime member of the Georgia Walking Horse Association.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Powell; daughter, Victoria Powell of Atlanta, GA; sister, Louise Mauter and her husband, Steve of Cullman, Alabama; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and beloved pets, Lord Louie and Cornbread.

A private memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 211 Center Park Drive, Suite 3010, Knoxville, TN 37922 or your local humane society.
