LTE: Another Reason to Live in Cherokee County

The Cherokee County Health Department advertised free H1N1 vaccine in 12/3/2009, and other days until supplies ran out. When I arrived shortly after they opened on the first day, I was prepared for lines and long waits. Cars were overflowing the parking lots and onto the grass. I brought a book to read, expecting to wait.
As soon as I walked in, I was given a simple one page form to fill out. No lines when I turned in the form, and I was immediately ushered into a room where the injection was given. The Health Department had their whole staff, and some volunteers, working on this program. From the time I walked in the door until I walked out, it was 6 minutes.
Aside from havingĀ  needle stuck in my arm, the whole procedure was pleasant and fast. Everyone was nice. I cannot thank them enough. When it comes to providing health services, our Health Department sets the bar high.

Best Regards,
Jacob Dorn
