Successful job seeking skills at ODWC

A workshop at One Dozen Who Care in Andrews will explore your interests, skills and values and give you the tools to further your career path.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, from 2 – 5 p.m. at 65 Wilson Street, Suite 6, Andrews.  The office is located between Dollar General and PJs Pizza.  Registration fee is $5 at the door.  Call 828-321-2273 and leave a message, or call 828-361-1941 to register.  If you leave a message with your phone number your call will be returned.

Topics to be discussed are: Self Assessment, Job Search Strategies, Completing Applications Correctly, Interviewing Skills, and Resume Writing.

The instructor for the workshop is Jill Cleaveland.  Jill started writing music at the ripe age of eleven.  She has written over a hundred folk songs and has performed on the radio, at benefits and at the World’s Fair in Vancouver, Canada. She played varsity volleyball at Pepperdine University and at Abilene Christian University.

Jill got her B.A. in Music from the University of California, Riverside.  She also holds two teaching credentials, one in multiple subject elementary education and one in music (k-12).  She enjoys writing, teaching and reading.

After teaching elementary school, east of LA, she made her way to the Smoky Mountains and has been an employee of the Tri-County Joblink for over a decade.
