Baroque Ensemble to play in Brasstown
For the second concert in this season, Brasstown Concert Association (BCA) will present the “Chatham Baroque” ensemble on Sunday, October 18 at 2:30pm at the Keith House, John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.
Playing on period instruments, this Pennsylvania-based ensemble’s dazzling technique has received high critical acclaim. The three musicians, Andrew Fouts, baroque violin; Patricia Halverson, viola da gamba and Scott Pauley theorbo, lute and baroque guitar will perform music solidly rooted in the 17th century. The group’s engaging stage manner has delighted audiences in multiple venues in both North and South America. The Washington Post describes their performance as “musically impeccable.” Two of their seven CDs received the very prestigious five gold stars rating from Europe’s “Goldberg Magazine.”
BCA board member Pat Meinecke says “…the technical mastery of this group is outstanding. We are thrilled to have them on our program this year.”
This concert is supported in part by The North Carolina Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of North Carolina and the National Endowments for the Arts.
